Update — Overview
This update contains several major additions to the website’s research resources, including a new three-part surname study, a practical research guide, and the launch of a new digital archive dedicated to the war memorial of San Cassiano di Controne. The genealogy database has also received a modest update with new individuals, data clean-up, and additional profiles connected to ongoing research projects. Looking ahead, two new local-history articles are already in preparation for the summer months.

Several new articles have been added to the blog:
- A new three-part series exploring the history, distribution, and family connections of the Domenici surname in the commune of Bagni di Lucca.
- The series follows ongoing efforts to reconstruct and map Domenici family lines across multiple villages using parish and civil records.

New Feature Page: The San Cassiano War Memorial
A new permanent feature page has been launched on the website:
- The San Cassiano War Memorial Digital Archive
- A searchable archive dedicated to the individuals commemorated on the war memorial in San Cassiano di Controne.
- Contains traceable biographical information, military records, photographs, and supporting documentation where available.
- The archive aims to preserve local memory while making these stories accessible to descendants and researchers around the world.
- Readers interested in the origins and development of the project can read the accompanying blog post documenting the background, research process, and goals of the initiative.


Database Updates
The genealogy database has been updated as of 10 June 2026. Highlights include:
- Various corrections, relationship updates, and data quality improvements throughout the database.
- 15+ new individuals with the Pini surname added to the database.
- Removal and consolidation of several duplicate profiles identified during routine database maintenance.
- New individuals connected to the San Cassiano War Memorial project, including:
- Individuals commemorated on the memorial.
- Parents and immediate family members identified through supporting records.
- Additional miscellaneous additions from ongoing research projects and record reviews.
